Preparing

We have started this Blog quite a while after we started preparing for our move to Spain. So in this post I'll explain what we have done, the important decisions we have made and bring the story into real time.

After being offered a job we had to sit down and way up the pros and cons. I was working in the best job that I have had with more potential of any job that I have had. We have only been living in our present house (which by the way is a fantastic house and is on the market at the moment!) for a year and our 3 girls are all in schools that they are happy going to and are doing very well in their education. Why the hell move then!!!!

Well like I said in our first post, moving abroad as always been a dream of ours and the reasons to stay are only excuses not to go. Saying that it did take us a while to get our heads around it and believe that we were actually going to go for it!

So how do we go about it? There are so many things to sort out.
  • The House, do we sell or rent?
  • Transport, do we drive or fly.
  • When we get there do we rent or buy.
  • Education, where are the schools? do they except English Children?
  • Health Care, do we need private or can we use the Spanish National Health? (Oh by the way I'm a Diabetic so I need to sort out getting Insulin out there.)
These are just a few of the decisions that we faced. I'm sure if you think about moving abroad you will come up with lots more as we have but I'm not going to fill this Blog with all of that.

The choices we have made!

Thats it, the house is up For Sale!!! We looked at renting it out but have decided that when we are out there if we see a house we really like we want to be in a position to buy. Like I've said before we're going for it 110%.
We plan on renting when we get there but do not want to miss out if an opportunity arises.
We are going to sell the car as we have been advised that it is much easier to buy a left hand drive car over there, but in selling a right hand drive we would lose a lot of the value.
